On December 31, 2024, the inauguration ceremony for Sports Arbitration Center of General Administration of Sport of China (Sports Arbitration Center) was held in Beijing, the Sports Arbitration Center will undertake the day-to-day routine work of the China Sports Arbitration Commission.

According to the China Sports Arbitration Commission, since its establishment on February 11, 2023, the committee had accepted nearly 100 sports arbitration applications, involving football, ice hockey, hockey, taekwondo, marathon, the chess and other sports. The types of cases covered disputes over athlete registration and communication, football youth training compensation, disciplinary sanctions, eligibility and results, etc.

According to reports, the members of the China Sports Arbitration Commission are all part-time personnel, and the arbitrators who handle specific cases were also part-time experts. Specialized institutions and full-time staff are required for the acceptance of sports arbitration cases, the trial of cases, the management of arbitrators, the study of systems, and foreign exchanges, fixed workplaces and professional supporting facilities are required as well as work guarantees. The Sports Arbitration Center will strengthen the personnel and material guarantees for the effective performance of the functions of the China Sports Arbitration Commission and the implementation of the sports arbitration system, in order to ensure the independent, impartial and professional operation of the sports arbitration system and sports arbitration institutions.
