CMAC Workshop: Innovation and Development of Maritime Arbitration Regime was successfully held
On November 22, 2024, CMAC Workshop: Innovation and Development of Maritime Arbitration Regime, co-hosted by CMAC, HKMAG and Beijing Chaoyang Lawyers Association, was held in Beijing.
Qi Ji, Director of the Case Management Division of CMAC, and Li Xuehui, Vice Chairman of the Chaoyang Lawyers Association, delivered opening speeches respectively. In the speech session, Bill Amos, Vice President of HKMAG, Peng Xianwei, Partner of Beijing DeHeng Law Firm, Gong Qi, Counsel of Beijing Hui Zhong Law Offices, and Li Lei, Partner of Beijing Hylands Law Firm, respectively shared their professional insights on topics "Hong Kong Maritime Arbitration", "Validity of Arbitration Clauses in Unsigned Contracts", "Experience Sharing on the Recognition (Acknowledgement) and Enforcement of Foreign Maritime/Commercial Arbitration Awards in Chinese Mainland", and "Common Misunderstandings in Initiating Foreign Maritime Arbitration Procedures". During the discussion session, Hong Huimin, Deputy Secretary-General of CMAC Northeast Asia International Arbitration Center and the speakers discussed and exchanged views on the selection of maritime arbitration institutions, the development of ad hoc arbitration in Chinese Mainland, and the situations for Chinese parties that be required to pay attention to when participating in international maritime arbitration cases.
