Ren Hongbin, Chairman of CCPIT and CMAC, attended and addressed the event
Ren pointed out that the 3rd Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China made systematic plans for creating a first-rate business environment that is market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized. It proposed improving the arbitration and mediation system for international commercial disputes and cultivating world-class arbitration organizations and law firms. CCPIT will uphold fundamental principles and break new ground and pursue excellence, continuously strengthening the commercial dispute resolution service system, and enhancing the "golden brand" of foreign-related legal services. CCPIT aims to make greater contributions to supporting the steady operations of Chinese and foreign enterprises and is committed to working with all parties to improve the sophistication, collaboration, and digitalization of international commercial dispute resolution.
Yu Jianlong, Vice Chairman of CCPIT delivered the closing remarks
The 4th Singapore-China International Commercial Dispute Resolution Conference was jointly organized by CCPIT, Singapore's Ministry of Law, and the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization. Attendees engaged in discussions on topics such as legal service support for enterprises expanding internationally, the application of digital technologies in dispute resolution, and optimizing international arbitration. The event was attended by over 300 participants, including representatives from government departments, business associations, trade promotion agencies, business communities, legal scholars, and heads of legal service organizations from both countries.
Li Hu, Vice Chairman of CMAC delivered keynote speech
Li Hu, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CMAC was invited to participate in the discussion panel. Li shared his opinion vis-a-vis the topic of "Time, Cost, Quality and Optimization of International Arbitration in International Arbitration", that time, cost and quality are the essential elements related to the competitiveness of arbitration, and providing independent and impartial arbitration services with high efficiency and low cost is the eternal goal of international arbitration. In 2021, CMAC revised its arbitration rules to systematically optimize arbitration, further strengthen the arbitral tribunal's obligation to adjudicate as the main body, clarify the case management meeting, prudently determine the hearing time, standardize the trial cross-examination, and substantially improve the quality of arbitration. Whilst, CMAC will empower arbitration with technology, appropriately tackle with cuber security and data and privacy protection issues, reduce costs, improve efficiency, and promote the high-quality development for arbitration.
