German arbitration experts visit CMAC
On the morning of December 16, 2024, Rolf Knieper, Emeritus Professor of the University of Bremen, Reinmar Wolff, Vice Chairman of the German Arbitration Institute (DIS) and Assistant Professor of Marburg Law School, accompanied by Mao Xiaofei, Deputy Director of Research Department for Laws of Nations of Institute of International Law of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), visited CMAC and had an in-depth discussion with Li Hu, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CMAC.
During the discussion, both sides discussed the differences and integration of the rules of commercial arbitration and international investment arbitration, and the ideas for dealing with substantive issues, and both agreed that the development of international investment arbitration will inevitably have an impact on commercial arbitration, and the experience and practices of commercial arbitration will also provide perfect influences and solutions for international investment arbitration rules. In the future, the Chinese and Germany arbitration communities are expected to continue maintaining stable communication and exchanges, continuously expand the breadth and depth of cooperation, and work together to contribute to the construction for a more fair, transparent and orderly international arbitration system.
