The 3rd Northeast Asia International Commercial Dispute Resolution Summit successfully held in Qingdao
On November 15, 2024, organized by CMAC, co-hosted by CMAC Qingdao Arbitration Center and CMAC Northeast Asia International Arbitration Center, the 3rd Northeast Asia International Commercial Dispute Resolution Summit ("Summit") was successfully held in Qingdao. The Summit was also supported by Maritime Arbitration Commission at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (MAC), Japan Commercial Arbitration Association (JCAA), Korea Maritime & Ocean University (KMOU), Law School of Korea University, Law School of Chungbuk National University, China Maritime Law Association (CMLA), CCPIT Shandong Sub-council, CCPIT Qingdao Sub-council, Qingdao Municipal Transport Bureau, Laoshan Municipal People's Government, Shibei Municipal People's Government, Qingdao International Cruise Port Service Administration, Qingdao Transportation Development Center, Shandong Lawyer Association, Law School of Shandong University, Law School of Qingdao University, there are early 300 representatives from the legal and business sectors attended the Summit.
At the opening ceremony, Yu Jianlong, Vice Chairman of CCPIT and CMAC, Hwang Che-hyun, Vice President of the Korea-China Industries Association, Shota Nishimura, First Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in China, and Meng Qingbin, Chairman of Qingdao Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) delivered speeches. The opening ceremony of the Summit was presided over by Li Hu, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CMAC.
Yu pointed out that, as a forerunner, pioneer and leader in the foreign-related arbitration field of China, the CCPIT has thoroughly implemented the national strategic plan related to arbitration work. It has consistently demonstrated new achievements and responsibilities in advancing the rule of law in foreign-related matters and building a new development paradigm. In the face of new circumstances and requirements, we should always stress the importance of foreign-related arbitration and focus on key areas that serve the overall national agenda. We should also strengthen resource integration and build a collaborative and mutually beneficial regional rule of law ecosystem. At the same time, we must pragmatically serve enterprises, enhancing their ability to prevent legal risks.

Since its inception in 2022, the Summit has always practiced the principles of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, and contributed consensus and wisdom to the innovation of the dispute resolution system in Northeast Asia. CMAC will fully utilize the Summit , rely on branches in Qingdao, Dalian and other places to actively promote and disseminate the rule of law culture of arbitration, guide enterprises to master dispute resolution rules and practical experience, provide strong support for the development of the port and shipping industry in Northeast Asia, and provide solid service guarantee for the healthy development of the world economy.
