International Maritime Dispute Resolution Conference Held Successfully in Tianjin

On July 11, the International Maritime Dispute Resolution Conference was successfully held in Tianjin. CMAC is the organizer of the conference, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Tianjin Sub-council of International Trade Commercial Legal Service Center and the CMAC Tianjin Maritime Arbitration Center are the co-organizers. Over 200 participants from the business and legal communities were present at the event.

Li Qingshuang, Vice Chairperson of CCPIT, and Li Wenhai, Deputy Mayor of Tianjin Municipal Peoples Government attended and addressed the opening ceremony. Li Qingshuang remarked that as Tianjin is on its way to being an international shipping hub, maritime arbitration will play a greater role in the process of building a law-based business environment in Tianjin. The CCPIT is ready to collaborate further with the Tianjin Municipal Peoples Government and other relevant parties to enhance communication and coordination in the shipping industry. This collaborative effort aims to build a platform for high-level exchanges of arbitration, thereby supporting, guiding, and encouraging shipping market entities to choose Tianjin as their preferred destination for dispute resolution. The opening ceremony was presided over by Jiang Dezhi, Chairman of CCPIT Tianjin Sub-council.

Li Hu, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CMAC, delivered a keynote speech. Li Hu stated that CMAC will always adhere to the development concepts of professionalization, refinement and internationalization, constantly innovate the contents and forms of services, improve the quality and efficiency of services, and take the lead in providing services for ad hoc arbitration in China while carrying out institutional arbitration, so as to better align with international arbitration practice and meet the parties growing demand for dispute resolution services.
