2024 High-Level Symposium on Maritime Silk Road International Economics and Trade Arbitration Held Successfully in Xiamen
On September 6, the 2024 High-level Symposium on Maritime Silk Road International Economics and Trade Arbitration was successfully held in Xiamen, Fujian.
The Symposium was organized by CMAC, undertaken by CMAC Maritime Silk Road Arbitration Center, and supported by International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organization (ICDPASO), Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution (AIADR), Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC), China Maritime Law Association (CMLA), China Academy of Arbitration Law (CAAL), the Arbitration Center Across the Straits (ACAS), Chinese Arbitration Association, Taipei (CAA), China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Mediation Center (CCPIT Mediation Center), Xiamen Maritime Court, China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission Fujian Sub-Commission (CIETAC Fujian Sub-Commission), Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District Free Trade Pilot Zone, CCPIT Fujian Sub-council, CCPIT Xiamen Sub-council, School of Law of Xiamen University, Xiamen Lawyers Association, Xiamen Commercial and Maritime Mediation Center (XCMMC), Xiamen Port Authority, Silk Road Maritime, Xiamen Shipowners’ Association, Crew Service Industry Association, Fujian (CSIA, Fujian), Xiamen International Freight Forwarders Association, and Xiamen International Business Law Service Coordination Center for participation.
Yu Jianlong, Vice Chairman of CCPIT, attended and addressed the opening ceremony. Yu Jianlong indicated that under new circumstances, CCPIT would develop “the four-sphere integrated plan”, explore innovations in international economic and trade arbitration, and better protect the international supply chain with the rule of law. He suggested that foreign-related legal services should be based on the needs of enterprises and enhance service awareness; adhere to an innovation-driven development strategy to improve service capacity; and strengthen professional discussions to share best practices.
During the launching session, Chen Bo, Vice Chairperson of CMLA, and Lu Hailin, Deputy Director of Xiamen Area of China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone Management Committee inaugurated the Xiamen Liaison Office of the Secretariat of China Maritime Law Association.
