“China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone Ad Hoc Arbitration Guidelines” Issued

On September 25, 2024, China-ASEAN Commercial Law Forum, the Parallel Forum of the 21st China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit - was successfully held in Guangxi.

CMAC jointly issued the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone Ad Hoc Arbitration Guidelines with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Guangxi committee, the Office of the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area Nanning International Commercial Tribunal, the Guangxi Arbitration Association, and the China-ASEAN Commercial Arbitration Cooperation Center. The Ad Hoc Arbitration Guidelines provide enterprises and other market entities with guidance on resolving disputes through ad hoc arbitration, further optimizing the business environment of the free trade zone and promoting high-quality development.

Zhang Shaogang, Vice Chairman of CCPIT, attended and addressed the opening ceremony. In his address, Zhang Shaogang emphasized that under the current international situation, all parties should continue to uphold the multilateral trading system and work together to advance global economic institutions; focus on strengthening the rule of law to stimulate corporate innovation vitality; and continuously deepen international legal exchanges to promote global business cooperation. The opening ceremony was presided over by Yang Yanyan, Chairperson of CCPIT Guangxi Sub-council.

Li Hu, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CMAC, was invited to speak at the expert presentation session. Li Hu proposed that in the new context, all parties should continuously strengthen bilateral and multilateral collaboration, building regional legal cooperation mechanisms with exemplary effects; actively participate in the formulation of international rules to enhance voice and influence, promoting regional trade and investment towards standardization, legalization, and modernization. The expert presentation session was presided over by Wu Juan, Vice Chairperson of CCPIT Guangxi.
