New Rules on Centralized Jurisdiction of Arbitration Judicial Cases involving “Three Specific” Requirements concerning Ad Hoc Arbitration and “Overseas Arbitration Institutions” Implemented from June 24,2024

To ensure the effective implementation of the Regulation of the Shanghai Municipality on Promoting the Initiative for an International Commercial Arbitration Center and to enhance the procedural norms and legal uniformity in handling new types of arbitration judicial cases, on June 24, the Shanghai High People’s Court issued the Provisions of the Shanghai High People’s Court on Centralized Jurisdiction of Judicial Cases Involving Ad Hoc Arbitration Featuring “Three Particulars” and Arbitration by “Offshore Arbitration Business Institutions”. The provisions will take effect on June 24, 2024.
