On 29 January, high-ranking legal officials from the Supreme People’s Court of China and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region jointly announced that the Arrangement on Reciprocal Recognition and Enforcement of Judgments in Civil and Commercial Matters by the Courts of the Mainland and of the HKSAR came into force simultaneously on both sides. Thus, all nine arrangements so far regarding on judicial assistance in civil and commercial matters become effective, bridging the legal rules and practices of both sides of the boundary.
