LI Hu, Vice Chairman of CMAC attends the first meeting of the China-Singapore Joint Dispute Settlement Mechanism Expert Panel

On March 30 2023, the first meeting of the expert panel of the China-Singapore Joint Dispute Resolution Mechanism was held in Xiamen, Fujian Province. LI Hu, Vice Chairman of CMAC, was invited as a member of the panel.

Before the meeting, REN Hongbin, Chairman of CCPIT, met with SHI Xiaohui, Second Director-General, Legal and Commercial Department of the Ministry of Law, and members of the China-Singapore Joint Dispute Resolution Mechanism Expert Panel. KE Liangdong, Vice Chairman of CCPIT, and LI Weihua, member of the Standing Committee of the Xiamen Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee attended the meeting.

Chairman REN Hongbin commented that China and Singapore have broad space for cooperation in the field of commercial legal services. CCPIT has had a profound history and rich practical experience in the fields of international economic and trade arbitration and commercial mediation, and relevant institutions of China and Singapore can strengthen exchanges and cooperation and further enhance the level of bilateral cooperation in legal services between the two countries.

In December 2020, CCPIT and Singapore's Ministry of Justice concluded a MOU on the Establishment of a Working Group to Study Joint Dispute Settlement Mechanisms. On April 7 2022, at the 2nd China-Singapore International Commercial Dispute Resolution Forum, CCPIT and the Ministry of Justice of Singapore jointly signed the "Working Group on the Establishment of a Joint Dispute Settlement Mechanism, and the Expert Panel of the China-Singapore Joint Dispute Settlement Mechanism Working Group, which was made up of 6 experts from China and Singapore, was formally established, and Vice Chairman LI Hu was selected as a member of the Panel. At the first meeting, members of the China-Singapore Expert Group conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on topics such as commercial legal service cooperation between China and Singapore, the new development of the international commercial dispute resolution system which had made periodical achievement.
