On March 30 2023, the 7th International Mediation Summit Forum, co-hosted by the CCPIT, the Leading Group for the Construction of the Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District and Xiamen Municipal People's Government, and co-organized by the Commercial Legal Service Center of CCPIT, the CCPIT Fujian and CCPIT Xiamen was held in Xiamen. REN Hongbin, Chairman of CCPIT, LUO Dongchuan, Deputy Secretary of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee, HUANG Wenhui, Mayor of Xiamen, as well as other leaders attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. KE Liangdong, Vice Chairman of CCPIT, moderated the opening ceremony.

LI Hu, Vice Chairman of CMAC, was invited to the meeting and served as an expert commentator in the forum "China's New Achievements in Promoting the Construction of Diversified Dispute Resolution Mechanism". The session was presided by FAN Yu, Professor of Law School of Ren Min University of China and attended by six experts, including ZHANG Shuming, Deputy President of the Fourth Civil Division of the SPC, FANG Xiao, Second-level Researcher of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of Commerce, WANG Fang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Mediation Center of the CCPIT, WEI Qing, Director of the Comprehensive Department of the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Resolution Organization, DAI Sijin, Chief Government Lawyer of the Office of Legal and Judicial Development of the Hong Kong SAR and Jorge Neto Valente, President of the Macao Bar Association.

In his comments, Vice Chairman LI Hu suggested as follows basing on the speeches of experts. Firstly, improve the connotation of diversified dispute resolution mechanisms, besides consultation, mediation, arbitration and litigation, attach importance to dispute prevention, pay attention to the quality and efficiency of multiple dispute resolution mechanisms, promote the docking and integration of various dispute resolution methods, and give full play to the advantages of diversified dispute resolution. Secondly, to take the opportunity of the Singapore Mediation Convention to promote a stable and standardized development of mediation in China.Thirdly, to have a complete and comprehensive understanding of the construction of preferred places for international dispute resolution, and actively promote the formation of an international dispute resolution center. Fourth, on the basis of respecting the legal systems of the three places involved in Guangdong, Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR, do a good job in connecting relevant dispute resolution areas and promote the establishment of a diversified dispute resolution mechanism in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

This forum is a brand forum with the theme of commercial mediation created by CCPIT, aiming to promote the construction of diversified commercial dispute resolution mechanisms, better use mediation to resolve international commercial disputes, promote the formation of a more efficient international mediation cooperation mechanism, and promote the healthy development of commercial mediation.
