SPC Released Typical Cases on Judicial Services Supporting High-Quality Development of Marine Economy
On February 27, 2026, the Supreme People’s Court (SPC) held a press conference and released typical cases concerning judicial services supporting the high-quality development of the marine economy.
The 7 released cases were selected from effective judgments of maritime cases over the past five years, submitted by maritime courts nationwide and the appellate higher people’s courts. They cover a wide range of case types, including financial leasing of offshore wind power projects, marine energy exploration and development, manufacturing of new-type marine equipments, transportation security for bulk commodities, port fuel oil supply, salvage of offshore aquaculture platforms, and handling of offshore wind power accidents.
These cases collectively reflect the complexity and diversity of legal issues in maritime economic disputes, establish adjudication rules for new types of cases, and provide clear guidance on legal matters related to new quality productive forces in the marine sector. They demonstrate the judicial responsibility and proactive attitude of the people’s courts in serving the overall national interests and fostering a sound legal environment for the high-quality development of the marine economy.
